Assoc. Prof. Nicolas LaRacuente joins IU QSEc

In August of 2023 Professor Nick LaRacuente (Computer Science) joins our ranks at QSEc from a previous, IBM-sponsored, position at the University of Chicago. He works on the mathematics of quantum information, computation, and entropy to address a key challenge for quantum computing: realizing stable quantum dynamics at scale. Dually, Dr. LaRacuente identifies computational bottlenecks in physical systems related to information flow and processing that potentially explain complexity’s role in the emergence of classicality.
